On the everyday basis I’m rosy nude lipstick/ balm stain wearer, let’s just say my most repurchased lipstick is Revlon Colorburst lipstick in Rosy Nude. I guess you could say I love to stick to what works when it comes to my face. Now that I have hit my “quarter-life crisis” I’ve thought why not try to broaden my horizons huh?! Tom Ford’s lipstick in #15 Wild Ginger has me converted to a full on bright lipcolor girl without feeling like I jumped on the bright lip trend four seasons too late.

Wild Ginger is a lovely rich warm orangey red that makes me feel very much like Mad Men’s Betty Draper, an elegant and classy fresh-faced young lady. The texture is creamy and luxurious. It glides on so smoothly and evenly that I’m not afraid to touch up the center of my pout sans a mirror. What is better… I find it to be very long wearing only needing to touch up after eating, and even then the color faded into a sheer wash of orange with no patchiness whatsoever. According to marketing the smooth creamy texture is attributed to “rare and exotic ingredients, including soja seed extract, Brazilian murumuru butter and chamomilla flower oil.”

As far as the fragrance, it is nothing offensive or overpowering. It smells slightly of cocoa butter in the bullet and once applied it seems to disappear.

Do I even need to mention the packaging? We all know and can see how beautiful it is, even guys can’t avoid mentioning its elegance when I whip it out for a touch up. It is weighty and always cool to the touch, however its boxy shape isn’t ideal to throw into a teensy clutch, so you’ll have to make some sacrifices and leave one other thing out, don’t get me wrong I am certainly not complaining!

The color is super flattering on my tan skin, and I can see it being so even on the fairest in the land 😉 Anna from viviannadoesmakeup.com raves that this is one of her favorites and she is quite fair.

It is so easy to wear that I feel free to apply whether I’m wearing jeans and combat boots or while donning a blinged out Bollywood sari. If you have tried it let me know what you think! Otherwise I do recommend you give it a swatch one day at your nearest Tom Ford counter.

#MakeupMAYhem Day 1: The Life Changer

#MakeupMAYhem Day 1: The Life Changer

Being an oily sensitive skinned gal finding a soothing cure to my acne prone skin has been a battle for years. Then along came Ingrid (MissGlamorazzi) and she certainly seems to battle the same issues that I have long faced. She mentioned the Midnight Recovery Concentrate in one of her monthly favorites videos, then I remembered that way back when… she did an experiment for a week and loved the results. I jumped on to the bandwagon and shelled out $46 and boy oh boy am I pleased.

I saw results after the first night it self! Not only has the soothing lavender essential oil calmed down breakouts, but it has also kept them at bay. After a good 2 months of consistent use the texture of my skin is much more supple and (as Amelia of Liana-Beauty.com says) “marshmallow-y” which could be attributed to the Squalene which is a botanical lipid that is similar in molecular structure to natural skin lipids. I also noticed that my skin is much less oily and more dewy (which I feel is the mission of every oily skinned girl). Another ingredient the Midnight Recovery Concentrate includes is evening primrose oil, which is meant to boost radiance but it goes way beyond just that. This oil is rich in Omega-6 fatty acids therefore ideal to treat sensitive skin issues like eczema and psoriasis.

I like to apply this light mixture of oils by rubbing three drops between both hands and gently patting it into my skin, after I feel like it’s evenly distributed, I like to put on a YouTube video and gently rub in the oil for the duration of the reel. This really gets the blood flowing and brings oxygen to the cells in your face, it also relaxes your facial muscles so that half the battle against wrinkles is won.

This is my favorite part of my nightly facial routine, the lavender scent and the massage is the IDEAL pre beauty sleep supplement. Be sure to add the Midnight Recovery Concentrate to your routine, I’m sure you won’t be disappointed =)
